Welcome to LoveBug Children’s Closet

The LoveBug Children’s Closet (LBCC) was designed for young moms and dads in crisis to access the resources needed to eliminate the financial barriers associated with being young parents. The LoveBug Children's Closet is a one-stop shop for all young parents in need. Due to the amazing generosity of our community and the overwhelming number of donations, Tameka Brown would drive around in the H.E.A.R.T.S. van with trash bags and Costco bins full of baby supplies for the teen moms in the H.E.A.R.T.S. Organization. When the load became too heavy and the process became overwhelming, Ms. Tameka proposed to the Board of Directors to obtain a storage unit that would house and display all essentials for young parents. In 2020, her request was granted by the Board and Ms. Tameka turned the 10x10 storage unit into the first LoveBug Children Closet. As it seemed like a great idea at the time, winter was cold, and the summer brought big bugs. In 2021, grants were awarded to the organization to give the LoveBug a new home at the M&F Corporation Bank 2634 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd., Durham NC, 27707. In 2023, the Lovebug was sponsored and remodeled by The Young Men's Service League and to this day the LoveBug is still growing and serving participants and families of our
